An iron frame attached on the spy ship’s name and port of registry on the hull of the stern allowed the ship to disguise its identity by inserting and changing plates with fake names and others.
The aluminum plate (string attached) had the Japanese letter “Miya” written in white, presumed to disguise its home port as Miyazaki Prefecture.

Orange. The letters “Meisei-Maru” and “Miyazaki” were written in Japanese.

Piece of Wood

Seemed to be part of a wooden sideboard marked “MZ2-23…”. These letter indicated that a fishing boat was registered to Miyazaki Prefecture if the sideboard had been part of a fishing boat, proving how easy it was to disguise the spy ship as a Japanese fishing boat.

Aluminum Plate

The Japanese words “Safety First” were written ton the plate to disguise the spy ship as a fishing boat.
