(Packaged in a pouch. The letters “Makurazaki” and “88” written on it.)

(Packaged in a pouch. The number “79” written on it.)

Cell Phone

A prepaid type phone made by Toshiba Corpration, Japan. Labeled “J-PHONE”(serial number DTSP7093756).
No records of incoming and outgoing calls remained on the device due to being immersed in seawater for a long time.
Call logs kept at the phone company proved that over 100 calls had been made in and to Japan from May to November 2001.

Pocket Computer

Made by Sharp Corporation. The number “6” written in red on the body.
The crew may have used it to encrypt communication by connecting it to a radio, but without any data from the main unit and RAM card surviving, the purpose remains undetermined.

GPS Chart Plotter

Made by Furuno Electric Co., Ltd. “FURUNO” indicated on the instrument.
The JCG requested an expert opinion from the manufacturer on two devices, one each from the Spy Ship and the small boat. However, the damage was too severe, and no records were left on the recording media.

Transistor Radio

Kept in a wooden box.

Vest

Green. Two green plastic bags were found in both the left and right upper side pockets.
